Did anyone notice bill was going 2 bite Claudine n Fairy land. I don’t think she would trust a vamp either-especially 1 she had 2 fight off like she did bill. He really hasn’t told Sookie anything-but that vamps wiped the Fae out. Everything else was just word of mouth history. Nothing Claudine said.

But yes Eric tricks Sook into giving him a ceremonial knife used for Vampire Marriage Ceremonies, which he accepts by kissing the knife, in front of a powerful vamp. It brings Sook under his protection according to Vamp laws. Sook is pissed-& doesn’t buy the marriage, but is glad of Eric’s protection.
From then on Eric calls her his wife.
Human laws don’t even know about vamp-marriage, so n Sook’s mind not a marriage to her.
